Life Update-y Thing Time!

T-Minus two weeks and counting til Orientation Day. GLEE! I have just about everything I need, sans money for books (XP that's what I'm taking care of now, yuck!) a trash can, coat hangers, actual school supplies, a small lamp I've been eying for that last few days, certain pieces of silver- and flatwear, and my random room decoration dealie bits (memory board, posters, calender, all that random shit). :3

Big Brother (can't really call him MIA Brother anymore, can I?) came over last night and chilled for a few hours. We went for a ride in his car (OMG2006SoftTopBlackCorvetteZOOM!) and I'm sorry to say, I don't want a Jeep anymore. :D He has ruined me for working cars forever. We actually spent a lot of time talking about school (he graduated from Hocking a while back) and the job market, and it was really nice. He said the same thing everyone else does, but I actually enjoyed hearing "It's good that you like the field, but with today's job market the way it is, are you sure that's what you should be doing?" over "wutcha gunna do wit a job like /that/?" or "but you have such a /good/ job at Kroger now, go get married and have lotsa kids!" He also agreed that Idiot Brother filled our quota for kids, and we can stay blessedly unchilded thanks to him. :3

Children are supposed to leave in two days. They were also supposed to leave last Friday and we can all see how well that worked out, hey?

My head itches like HELL, and I keep getting the wild terror that I don't have all the blood and iodine washed off. DX I do of course, but ugh, I hate that feeling of stuff running down my head. Also, I have a bald spot. Suck.

Ah well, back to the grindstone and all that. Work in a few hours.

Two weeks?! I have two months until my orientation, which doesn't start until August 25. But I am leaving for New York at the beginning of August.

Don't worry about the book money too much. It came in over time for me, and I was always a little behind everyone getting the books, but I explained to my professors that I was buying books out of pocket and needed some mercy and I usually got said mercy.

I forgot about the coat hangers and trash can senior year and it was a miserable little while before my mother bought me a new trash can (two, actually. One for my desk and one for by my bed). It still sucked not to have coat hangers, though.

Every year I brought less and less stuff to college -- to the point that senior year it took me and my boyfriend only about 2 hours and his little Honda Accord to move out (my freshman year it took me, my dad and mom, and my two siblings hours to move everything in out of a Ford Windstar and that STILL wasn't everything) but it turned out that I had forgotten some essentials, like half my clothes, the aforementioned clothes hangers and trash bins, and FOOD. D:

Hocking has a /lot/ of orientation days, spaced out til school starts. The one for my major just happens to be really freaking early in the summer. :3 I can't say I mind, since it's one less thing I have to worry about!

I'm really hoping I be able to get that leeway, but just about everyone at Hocking has to pay for books out of pocket-for some weird reason they won't accept fin. aid at the bookstore at all. :C

Everyone who sees my pile says something about how /small/ it is, but I'm really worried about space, especially since it's a triple room, not a double. I'm trying really hard to get a good balance of "Yay! Away from home, time to go wild!" and "Lets be conservative and thoughtful of the roommates!"...and it's not working too well. XD

Must. Not. Forget. FOOD.
