- exema. it's yucky.

Ha! The Great Black Out of 08!

My college campus had a massive ice storm that knocked power out for...*thinks* four days? Somehow it turned into the Black Out Party, when all five dorms were condensed down into two-the only two that still had emergency power-for about three days. By the time the Red Cross showed up with their shelters, everyone was too stupid to care, and just kept right on sleeping on whatever patch of floor they'd found. And, of course, in the mean time, the pipes burst in my dorm. XP You'd never seen so many people desperate for clean clothes and a shower as that week.

I can just about guarantee only about three people will understand/care here, but! Eee! So proud! I finally managed to take off a flute flake without snapping the point! *dancity dance*

It's not a particularly pretty point, or a particularly long flake, and leagues away from a laurel leaf, but! Fluted! :D Using a hammerstone! And it only took a little bit of blood, too.

After poking my prof (yes, the grades up) my adviser (yes, your gpa is fine) and financial aid (you don't have enough credit hours! Oh wait, yes you do! You must not have had enough last quarter! Oh wait, yes you did! Gee, maybe the problem is on our end, like you've been saying all along...) things are finally fixed, and I get to go back for fall quarter. Yay!

Just back from my first LARP. I have a hardcore funk-haven't slept in days, and haven't showered in longer. I'm black and blue. I'm FREEZING and still kinda wet. I had so much fucking fun.

Not looking forward to Friday's class. Not. Not. Not. Six hour geology lab, all spent in the field, the best I can say is at least I'm in class with friends. :/

I hope to HELL it doesn't rain, because I'll be a very unhappy, wet creature who hugely lacks rain gear. Or, any gear at all for that matter. Oops. :/

On a happier note, there is rumor that I may be making it to OhayoCon and/or AnthroCon this year. Rawk out!

My spinning teacher just hunted me down to remind me to come to an SCA meeting. She's also going to teach me to crochet, apparently. Woot! And I think she might be the weaving teacher, too.

Spent the night (or at least most of it, anyhow) wandering around Athens and swearing at the clouds. Big Mamma's is love. The Pyramids is a close second. And that sentence makes my inner grammar whore wince.

Boy from school has admitted to having a thing for me. Same boy also has a girl, who is also a friend of mine, and for the love of Ghod I refuse to poach on a friend. >:O

Boy from Dayton seems amazingly perfect, but is, of course, from Dayton, and all that that entails. ETA: And now Boy from Dayton has completely abandoned all forms of contact that I had with him. :/

Boy from class is doing one thing, and saying the exact opposite.

I'm sure it's kinda TMI, but I'm the world's happiest beastie today. I finally got my hands on a garter belt and stockings with back seams! I have two really cute retro dresses I could wear tomorrow, and all (I think) the accessories I need for a super cute outfit, and, to top it all off, I got my hair treated today, so it's super soft and shiny and curly and now somewhat more red than brown, and....*dumb*

I swear, there's nothing in the world like the feeling of /knowing/ you look good, even if it's just a nice outfit and clean hair. :3

Your assistance please!

We're doing a birthday cookout thing here at home, and I picked a pink and green fairy cake, ice cream (thin mint and strawberry, probably....or peppermint if I can find it!) and fruit and yogurt dip instead of junkfoods. But? My list of fruit is kinda short. Suggestions are required!

So far I have apples, grapes, kiwi, honeydew, and pears for green, and raspberries and strawberries for pink. (There's really not a whole lot of nomming out here that's pink, is there? I might have to end up with green and red. Boooo....)
