So, who am I? My given name is Rachael, though I’ve been known around town as Saffron, Rache-chan, Zephyr, and Gryphon-I collect nicknames like some people collect little porcelain statues. I live in a small farming village in Northwest Ohio, outside of a larger farm town, outside a largish city that isn’t in Spain-but I yearn for the high deserts of the southwest like a compass needle, and long for the warm dry energies of red rocks and dusty green plants. I’m a daughter, sister, aunt, and best friend. I'm pagan, childfree, a vocal, active democrat, pansexual, a hippie, an elegant goth, a geek and a raving bibliophile. I drink and shoot pool better than most guys. I own a cat and a gun-I’m not afraid to hit back, especially in defense of a loved one. My family is batshit insane, and my friends are like family. I dance, I draw, I sing, and I don’t care whos watching. I still play dress-up, and tell stories. I believe in magic, and talk to the fairies in my garden. I dream of Thunderbirds and tease Coyote. My brain is a little broken-it’s not a handicap or a disease, it’s who I am. I apologize in advance for anyone my journal looks wonky for. It looks fine on my computer, but I've noticed others where it's anything from a bit off, to unreadable. :/ |
